We are delighted to have handed over empowerment loans to 70 beneficiary groups under the Women and Youth Empowerment Grants and Loans component of the Liuwa Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for 2023.
Kalabo District Commissioner, Mr. Musangu Njamba, handed over the cheque worth K3, 227,641.38 to beneficiaries drawn from 10 wards during the official launch of the 2023 disbursement of Liuwa Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Women and Youth Grants and Loans event held at Libonda Royal Village.
Of the 70, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) has since approved the disbursement of funds to 34 beneficiaries, who signed loan agreements and received their funds on Thursday, 16 November 2023; thus, 36 beneficiaries’ accounts are yet to be credited.
The local authority is making frantic efforts to ensure all 70 beneficiaries are paid.
This disbursement is a testament that resources allocated to Liuwa constituency, are being prudently utilized and reaching the intended beneficiaries.
We urge the beneficiaries to be exemplary and also ensure that these revolving funds are utilized only for the intended purposes.
We further implore those who are yet to receive their share of these funds to be patient.
