KALABO COUNCIL ATTENDS 2025 NATIONAL BUDGET HEARINGS

A delegation of key management officials and officers from Kalabo Town Council is currently attending the 2025 National Budget Hearings for Local Authorities’ Output-Based Budgets in Chongwe District.
The team, led by Council Secretary Mr. Alisinda Nawa, includes nine officers: the Director of Finance, Director of Planning, Director of Engineering, Director of Health, District Veterinary Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Environmental Planner, Senior Procurement Officer, and Public Relations Officer.
The purpose of this critical meeting is to align Kalabo Town Council’s budgetary priorities with national development goals. The hearings served as a platform to discuss and review the district’s 2025 budget estimates, pegged at K141,998,326.00 (K142m) ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to address the developmental needs of the district and its residents.
Council Secretary Mr. Alisinda Nawa emphasized the importance of Kalabo’s active participation in this process.
“These budget hearings are pivotal for integrating Kalabo’s development plans into the broader national agenda. They allow us to align our priorities, secure necessary resources, and strengthen accountability in service delivery.”
The 2025 National Budget Hearings which was scheduled to run from 9 to 13 December, 2024 provided an opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, deliberate on budgetary challenges, and explore innovative solutions for implementing development projects in Kalabo District.
