In the recent past, Kalabo Town Council has been struggling to enforce the collection of Waste generated around the Central Business District and other areas due to lack of proper equipment.
Solid Waste Management is a crucial function for Local Authorities as it is embedded in the Republican Constitution Amendment No.2 of 2016, The Local Government Act No. 2 of 2019 and the Solid Waste Regulation and Management Act of 2018.
Neglecting this important function can lead to disasterous health challenges and diseases in the District.
Realizing this fact, Kalabo Town Council has procured a Front – end Loader 75 Horse power Tractor from Saro Agro Industrial Limited at the cost of ZMW 998,000.00
Inclusive of VAT and transportation cost.
This project has been facilitated under the Kalabo Central Constituency Development Fund 2025 Allocation.
