KALABO TOWN COUNCIL APPROVES 2026 BUDGET

26th December, 2025, Kalabo Town Council has today approved its 2026 Budget estimated at K149, 038, 646.00. This follows the Special Council Meeting that was held today on 26th December, 2025 in the Council Chamber. The approved budget represents an upward adjustment of 4.9% from the 2025 budget that stood at K141, 998, 357. 00, mainly necessitated by the increase in the Constituency Development Fund from K36 .5 million per Constituency in the past year to K40, million and the road grant allocation from K3.2 million to K6.4 million.

The approved budget outlines the Council’s development priorities for 2026, with a strong focus on improved service delivery, infrastructure development, community empowerment and prudent financial management.

The 2026 budget objectives include; strategic Job creation and economic growth, Human resource development, Environmental sustainability and enhance good Governance in the District.

The budget further reflects the aspirations of the people of Kalabo and the Council Management will commit to ensure sustainable and inclusive development through transparency, efficiency and prudent utilization of resources for the benefit of all residents of Kalabo District.
