A joint delegation from Sikongo and Kalabo districts paid a courtesy call on Her Royal Highness senior Chieftainess Mukwae Mbwanjikana Nolianga Mwanawina lll at her palace in Libonda Royal village, who was recently installed as the traditional leader for both Kalabo and Sikongo district.
The delegation included Sikongo District Member of Parliament Hon. Mayungo Simushi, Sikongo Town Council Chairperson, Mr. Kennedy Simbotwe, the District commissioner Mr. Henry Mwalye Imbuwa, Kalabo District Commissioner, Mr. Njamba Musangu, Sikongo Town Council Secretary, Dr Shimwanga Monde, Kalabo Council Secretary, Mr Nawa Alisinda and other senior heads of Government departments from both districts.
The visit was led by Western Province’s Provincial Local Government Officer, Mr.Nixon Nkwapu.
The purpose of the visit was to formally congratulate the Chieftainess on her ascension and to discuss developmental issues boadering between the two districts and the Royal palace.
During the visit, the Provincial Local Government Officer and the political officials pledged their support in strengthening governance, traditional values and also ensuring the comfort and dignity of the palace.
In her remarks, Chieftainess Mbwanjikana expressed gratitude for the gesture taken by both institutions and reaffirmed commitment for the Libonda Royal palace to work with Government.
