KALABO TOWN COUNCIL NAMED ONE OF ZAMBIA’S BEST IN THE UTILISATION OF THE CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT FUND (CDF).

Kalabo Town Council has clinched top honors from the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply, (ZIPS), after being recognized as the best performing Local Authority in Zambia in the utilisation of the Constituency Development Fund, CDF. The award highlights how the Local Authority is turning Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations into visible Community driven results despite the tough terrain and seasonal flooding that is experienced in the District.

The Zambia institute of Purchasing and Supply ( ZIPS) is the professional Institution that has the mandate to assess Public procurements compliance, transparency, value for money, project completion rates, and community involvement in Public Procurements. During the recently held Annual General Meeting that was held at Avan Hotel in Livinstone, Kalabo Town Council stood out as the best Local Authority in the Absorption of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) funds for both Kalabo Central and Liuwa Constituencies for the 2025 CDF allocation.

This recognition is a testament to prudent use of public funds, compliance to procurement standards, proper planning and Public. High project completion rate of projects by Kalabo Town Council.

The award is further a recognition of accountability and proven record of

Value for money in Contract Management by Kalabo Town Council.

Receiving the award today at the Office, Kalabo Town Council Secretary Mr. Alisinda Nawa who was in the Company of his Directors expressed happiness at the recognition that was awarded to the Local Authority by the Zambia institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).

Mr. Nawa attributed the award to teamwork between the Local Authority staff, the CDF Committees, the District Stakeholders traditional leadership, and the ward Development Committees who play a pivot role in the planning and monitoring of works on the ground.

With CDF standing at 40 Million Kwacha per Constituency, the people of Kalabo District are assured of more visible development in the various wards of the District.
